Ribosome is a science communication platform that I founded and operate entirely on my own. It is dedicated to translating complex scientific knowledge into content that is easy to understand, visually engaging, and irresistibly cute. The name "Ribosome" is inspired by the organelle responsible for translating RNA into proteins—just as the ribosome makes biological information useful, this platform aims to transform difficult scientific concepts into practical and empowering knowledge for everyday life. With a tone that breaks away from the traditionally serious image of science, Ribosome invites readers to experience knowledge in a lighthearted and comforting way.

Ribosome currently operates through Instagram and its official website, both built with CMS architecture to support regular updates and scalability. I use WordPress and Webflow to design and manage the platforms, combining blog articles, visual content, and SEO techniques to build a content hub that is both accessible and shareable.
The topics covered range from history of science and quirky facts to common phenomena that often go unnoticed in daily life. Content is always paired with narrative elements and original illustrations to help readers learn something fun and useful even during a short scroll on social media. Unlike platforms that focus solely on natural sciences, Ribosome also explores social sciences, psychology, and history—emphasizing that “science is exploration,” whether it’s natural phenomena or social observation.
I developed a unique visual identity for Ribosome, including logo design, brand color palette, layout system, and the creation of the platform’s mascot, Raibo-chan. The illustration style features simple lines and colors to ensure visuals support—rather than distract from—the scientific content. All illustrations are hand-drawn (not AI-generated) to maintain precision and narrative coherence with each topic.
This style is still rare in the knowledge-sharing space, making Ribosome both eye-catching and approachable for users of different age groups and cultural backgrounds.

As the sole creator and operator of Ribosome, I handle every aspect of the project, including:
Ribosome is designed for readers who enjoy scrolling through social media but still want to learn something interesting. To meet this need, I create short, visually appealing posts and include full article links for those interested in deeper dives. Although the platform is still in its early stages, friends and early viewers have expressed strong interest and said the content is the kind they’d love to keep following.
My workflow includes: Topic ideation → Research & reading → Copywriting → Illustration → Social media scheduling → Publishing & feedback monitoring. I rely on PubMed (for biomedical content) and Google Scholar to ensure scientific accuracy. To manage project progress and content timelines, I use Trello for efficient scheduling and quality control.
For illustration and design, I use Procreate on iPad and Adobe Illustrator. This setup allows me to create both web-optimized graphics and print-ready materials, maintaining visual quality across different formats.
I envision Ribosome becoming a go-to platform for people seeking daily insights and curiosity-driven knowledge—just like visiting a news site. Future plans include creating content that resonates with current events, exploring cross-cultural themes, and expanding into collaborations with other creators. I also hope to launch a podcast, illustrated e-books, and merchandise to build a more multidimensional brand ecosystem.
Currently, all content is primarily published in English, accompanied by Chinese translations. The Chinese versions are localized with cultural references and expressions familiar to Mandarin-speaking audiences, ensuring an authentic and relatable experience. Ribosome also values cross-cultural communication and plans to create content that explores cultural differences and the limitations of language translation—why we still struggle to connect, even in the era of smart translation tools.
