Hey there!

I'm Yi-Heng Sung (Cindy)

I’m a science communicator, learning designer, and content creator based in the Utrecht region of the Netherlands. My background spans medical writing, science communication, museum education, illustration, and community-focused projects. Across these fields, one belief has always guided me:

Knowledge is most powerful when it strengthens connection, between people, ideas, and communities.

I specialize in transforming complex scientific and social concepts into clear, engaging, and human-centered experiences. Whether I am writing, designing a learning activity, illustrating, or planning community programs, my goal is always the same: to make learning meaningful, accessible, and genuinely connected to people’s lives.

In today’s fast-changing and highly specialized world, communication alone is not enough. I aim to create shared understanding, foster dialogue, and support well-being, not only by conveying information, but by designing experiences that help people feel included, motivated, and empowered.

My work now expands across Science & health communication, Learning & development, CSR and community engagement, Wellness and human-centered program design.

These fields may seem different, but they share the same foundation:
empathy, clarity, and the ability to translate knowledge into real impact.

This is the value I bring into every project I create.

Expertise

Knowledge Communication & Copywriting

I craft clear and accurate narratives for science, health, culture, and social topics. My writing ranges from professional articles and patient education materials to digital campaigns and museum content. I adapt complexity and tone to meet each audience where they are.

Learning Experience Design (L&D)

Drawing from museum education, instructional design, and group dynamics training, I design interactive, reflective, and learner-centered experiences, workshops, learning activities, team-building programs, and educational content that support personal growth and organizational learning.

CSR & Community Engagement Projects

I help organizations design community-focused initiatives, including public education projects, cultural programs, and social-impact communication. My strength lies in bridging organizational goals with community needs through meaningful storytelling and co-created experiences.

Wellness & Human-Centered Program Design

With a background in occupational therapy and experiential learning, I design programs that emphasize connection, reflection, and well-being — from reflective prompts to creative learning journeys that help people feel seen and supported.

Illustration & Visual Communication

I create illustrations and infographics that make abstract ideas intuitive and engaging. My visuals balance scientific accuracy with approachability, and have been used in educational materials, social media, and exhibitions.

Project Management

I coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners, managing timelines, tracking progress, and aligning expectations. I communicate effectively with stakeholders to identify needs and navigate constraints, ensuring smooth project delivery.

Core Strengths

  • Human-centered clarity

I turn complex knowledge into experiences that are understandable, inclusive, and emotionally resonant.

  • Cross-domain integration

Communication, education, community, and wellness are interconnected, I design content that reflects this shared purpose.

  • Visual storytelling

Accurate and friendly illustrations that help audiences grasp key insights instantly.

  • Dialogue and connection

I create content and programs that invite participation, reflection, and meaningful interaction.

I believe that knowledge shouldn’t stay within academic or professional boundaries. It should flow into everyday interactions, community spaces, and organizational culture. Whether in science, learning, or social impact, well-researched ideas have the power to support people’s well-being, strengthen communities, and inspire meaningful conversations. My work focuses on bringing those insights into real-life contexts where they can create genuine impact.

My approach blends academic accuracy with human-centered design, combining communication, learning experience design, and community engagement. I aim to connect abstract ideas with lived experiences, not only informing people, but helping them feel included, motivated, and empowered to engage.
